Anderson sought me out on WhatsApp because he wanted to come to the Itatiaia National Park region with 3 more friends to photograph birds that were still new to them. I prepared all the logistics for the group’s arrival on the eve of the catwalk.
We started the first day in the upper part of the park where the star was once again the Speckle-breasted Antpitta. On this day they visited the Agulhas Negras peak, which is the highest point in the state of Rio de Janeiro. They also photographed many birds that occur at the altitude of Itatiaia.
On the second day we went to the lower part of the park, there are many birds that are endemic to the Atlantic forest and without a doubt it is worth the visit.
In the two days we made lists on eBird that counted 237 different species of birds.
