Rafael came to Itatiaia with a list of 4 target species that he would like to take great pictures of.
1- Atlantic royal flycatcher
2- Frilled coquette
3- Green crowned Plovercrest
4- Swallow tanager
We started our expedition with number 1 on the list. The goal was not just photos, but photos with the open fan. We spent a whole morning trying, there were many nice photos, but without a fan. At lunchtime, we went in search of the second one on the list. There were many hummingbirds in the place and we took the opportunity to take great photos. There were 8 species of hummingbirds. The next day our first target was the Green crowned Plovercrest. we left the house at 5:30 am and headed to the place where there were 5 individuals. After taking good pictures of him, we went back to Itatiaia for the second attempt to photograph Atlantic royal flycatcher with the fan open and to our delight she gave us this moment. Much joy at this time. Then we moved to the Itatiaia National Park to try photos of the Frilled coquette. Again we were successful and he landed right in front of us. Another successful expedition…
