During the 18th to the 21st of August Osmar Lima came with his wife Martha Lima to Penedo, where they stayed. This time Osmar came with his wife, because she got a taste for photography and is accompanying him on trips around the region.
Our first destination was the RPPN Fazenda Santo Antônio, where a flock of king vultures were feeding on a calf that had died. In the afternoon we went to Capelinha where we saw many birds in the open area.
On the second day we went to Serra da Bocaina, as always very well received by the couple José Milton and Andrea. On the descent of the mountain we found a group of Spot-winged Wood-Quail, where Osmar managed to make some photos, the first photographic record in the mountain for the Wikiaves website. At night we passed by Queluz to photograph the Ocellated Poorwill.
On the third day we had to abort because of the heavy rain and cold. On the fourth day we waited until lunch time to go out towards the upper part. There was only time to photograph some birds, as it rained again.
