During the days 19 to 22 of July I set up an expedition for observation and photography of birds for the clients of the Wild Brazil, were 4 people, 1 American, 1 Italian and 2 Swedes. Marco’s friend also came with the group and stayed here until Friday night. It was 3 days of many birds where we recorded 202 birds observed in the National Park of Itatiaia and the region of the cities of Resende RJ and Itatiaia RJ. On the first day the group arrived after lunch but we still observed and photographed many cool species such as the endemic Slaty Bristlefront and the Rufous-capped Motmot, birds that draw our attention to their beauties. Even this evening we were able to observe and make good pictures of the Tawny-browed Owl. On the second day we continued to the city of Itatiaia RJ and then we left for the upper part of the park behind some species that were the target of this expedition, being: Black-capped Piprites , Rufous-tailed Antthrush, Itatiaia Spinetail, Speckle-breasted Antpitta, Black-and-gold Cotinga, Mouse-colored Tapaculo others. On the third day we left for Resende to go after more species for the group, this time birds that occur near flooded regions. There were two important targets for this day, Masked Yellowthroat and the Black-capped Donacobius, both viewed and photographed by the boys. On returning to the park we still had time to see some more birds. On the fourth and last day I still had to show the group the bird that would be one of the most difficult to spot in the Park, the Variegated Antpitta, but the star of the group still shone and it was not long before this ghost gave the faces and pass several times in the in front of them .. But this morning we also observed other cool birds like the Sharpbill, Such’s Antthrush who continues giving a true spectacle, Red-ruffed Fruitcrow, Pileated Parrot. The group said goodbye to Itatiaia with 202 species observed and many photographed and followed the trip.
