During the days 03 to 19 of August of 2018 I went with the friends Rafael Barreto and Renato Sá to the Amazon in search of photos of some birds in specific. Guianan Cock-of-the-rock, Wire-tailed Manakin and Musician Wren. On the first day in Manaus we were already contemplated with the Crested Owl and also we heard the Black-banded Owl in the same place, but this one did not appear for photos. On the second day we headed straight for Presidente Figueiredo AM where we stayed for 2 nights. This was the city where we took several pictures of the Guianan Cock-of-the-rock both in the arena and around the hostel where we stayed, we saw at least 7 individuals and also many other birds. After 2 days we left for Manaus again where we spent another night and then in the morning the next day we continued our trip to Manacapuru AM. Already in Manacapuru we photographed many species of birds very colorful around the inn. The next day we left early for New Airão AM, our goal this day was the Wire-tailed Manakin, a beautiful bird that only occurs in a few places, here in a place in Rio Negro. We returned the next day to Manaus where we were able to go to the Musa Tower in the afternoon. The next morning we returned to the tower where we could do many nice photos.
Below are the photos of the expedition.
Next year there’s more..
