During the 2nd to 4th of March 2020, I led the couple Paulo Sergio and Luciana through the Itatiaia National Park region. There were 3 days in search of some new birds for the couple.
On the first day we went in search of high altitude birds, it rained a lot the day before and the forecast was for more rain for the day, but we moved on. When we arrived at the top of the park it was very cold and with a little drizzle but it didn’t stop us from seeing and photographing the birds. On the second day, we went back to the top to see some species that we didn’t see on the first day. The sun came up and it was a success. In the afternoon we went to the lower part, but the weather got dark. At the Hotel do Ypê, many hummingbirds were by the drinking fountains, but on the road the birds were very quiet.
